Cardiff Junior Devils v Swindon Cubs

The Cardiff junior Devils under 10s played their first home match of the season on Saturday 6th September at the Cardiff Ice Arena, a challenge match against Swindon Cubs.

Half of the Cardiff team were playing in their first competitive match, and all were having their first taste of the new under 10s development rules – ‘Jonkers Rules’ – which the under 10s will be playing this season.

The Swindon Cubs were well prepared and put on a fine display of passing and attacking, with Cardiff’s netminder Jake Roberts (Spirit of the Game) forced to work very hard between the pipes. The junior Devils’ Iwan Davies, fought back hard to score his first hat-trick, supported by Man of the Match Eliot Randall who has recently rejoined Cardiff from Bracknell.

Riley Lulfs and Ethan Jones both playing in their first competitive match for Cardiff, and Iwan Williams and Lewis Davies, all caught the eye with some very promising play.

The Under 10’s enjoyed their game and now look forward to their first league game on the 20th October against Basingstoke, to be played at the Cardiff Ice Arena.
