Guildford 13 - 1 Cardiff Junior Devils
Cardiff junior Devils under 12s team travelled to Guildford on Sunday
2nd November and came home with a loss after some efficient performances
did not translate into team success.
A strong Guildford team, headed by a Southern Conference netminder,
held off wave after wave of breakaway play, and responded in kind.
Some great saves by Cardiff netminder Ciaran Matthews, and good defending
by Lewis Docherty, were no match for the Guildford forwards.
Cardiff forwards Owen Bradshaw, Iwan Davies and Eliot Randall broke
through the defence, but each time their shots were blocked by Guildford’s
goalie Marco Munari. Good passing and attacks by under 10s players
Eliot, Jake Roberts and Iwan, and by Elis Sheppard, Owen Bradshaw
and Matty Palmer on the first line also failed to make a mark on the
score sheet.
Only Owen managed to slot a goal in the net – an unassisted effort
at 12.34.
Spirit of the Game award went to under 10s centre Eliot Randall,
whose consistent hard work with mid-field tackles and positive forward
play created several chances for the Cardiff team.
The under 12s now return home after a run of three away matches to
play Bracknell at the Cardiff ice arena on Sunday 9th November.
