In recent days there appears to be much speculation and rumours surrounding the position of Cardiff Dragons ENL Team and the ENIHL league.

To clarify matters the position is as follows:

Over a number of weeks, CJIHC have been negotiating additional ice time to fulfill league fixtures pertaining to the ENL team. However it became increasingly apparent that despite all efforts, it was not possible to factor in all fixtures as required to conclude the league within the target league completion date of the 25th February 2007.

The ENL League Management Team met on the 14th January to review the situation and consider the options available. Unfortunately the outcome was the removal of Cardiff from the League. The ENL League Management Team recognised the efforts of CJIHC to fulfil its commitments and in no way blames Cardiff, for what is an unfortunate outcome exasperated by the delay to the rink opening.

The ENL Team have now been offered, and accepted, the opportunity to continue to ice and compete in the ENL Cup with matches against Peterborough and Invicta in the Southern Competition and if successful with go forward to play the Northern Competition winners in a Home and Away Leg. The team were strong contenders this season and our thanks and thoughts go to the Players, Coach and Management Team for the dedication shown during an unpredicatable year.
