Cardiff Dragons under 14’s returned to the annual International Tournament in Bracknell where they were crowned Plate winners a year ago with one thing on their minds – to finish the tournament as they finished the league – on top.

Bracknell was to be the last time the Dragons Under 14 of the 2007/08 season would play together as a team as many players are moving up into the under 16’s next season.

The Dragons entered the 3-day tournament short benched after suffering injuries to several key players but as usual the team rallied together and started the group stages in fine form beating the host team Bracknell 2-0.

The Cardiff Dragons made it through to the playoff stages where they faced Bracknell again and after a good performance won a spot in the finals.

The final game was played against the Oxford Stars. It was a tough game which saw the Dragons come from behind in the last 10 minutes to equalise. Crowds saw some amazing ice hockey during the period. It was a tense end to the final and in the last 2 minutes Cardiff clinched the win after scoring again to end the game 2-1.

The Cardiff Dragons claimed 2nd place and brought home a Silver Cup.
