CJIHC: A Welcome Return

Yes that’s right a welcome return to the fold after last years disappointment with the league management committee removing the Cardiff Dragons from the league competition it is with delight that we are moving into a new era of English National league hockey with the expansion of the league and it’s restructure to accommodate the new teams.

The new teams that have arrived this year will add to the competition and especially to the leagues development as the third tier of British Ice Hockey and its intension to become a rung in the development ladder of youth hockey creating a solid rung, on that ladder for our developing player.

This year again will be a building process for the team and the club but with a the trials and tribulations of the last season behind us and the strong foundations that have been put in place by the managements teams of the Cardiff Junior Ice Hockey Club we are looking forward to a successful season.

The new teams from Telford, Solihull, Coventry and the Isle of Wight and that of Swindon from last year will be a great challenge to the team that is being built. These past months have shown the character of the team in its efforts to stay together and compete this year.

Conference With the inclusion of further developing players of the CJIHC it is anticipated that a strong performance will be forthcoming from the team. It is also pleasing to see that the structure within Cardiff Hockey is growing and now with the Cardiff Devils taking on development players to assist in there further development it is hoped that they will become assets to the Cardiff Dragons and the club as a whole.

Work is currently underway in efforts to further develop the links between CJIHC and the Devils for the benefit of all the clubs players.

As always the part that we all hate to bring up and that is the costs, the team would like to ask that if there are any prospective sponsors out there please come forward and help grass roots hockey at its best. For those who sponsored us last year we are so grateful for your loyal support and hope that you may step forward and assist again this year.

Finally calling all fans please support the team this year and enjoy grass roots hockey and the developing players in there playing careers.

The Cardiff Dragons Management Committee.
