Dragons leave Tiger Sharks on the rocks
The Cardiff Dragons under 10’s ice hockey team travelled to Gosport on Sunday 14th October for the first match of the season, against Solent and Gosport Tiger Sharks. Cardiff Dragons were two men short of a full team, and gratefully accepted the services of Tiger Sharks ‘loan’ players Cameron and Luke. The match was therefore played as a ‘Challenge’ match instead of the designated League fixture.
The Tiger Sharks started strongly with an easy goal inside the first two minutes. However, Cardiff Dragons responded well, and played some sparkling ice hockey to win by a convincing 8 goals to 2.
Man of the match for Cardiff Dragons was Andrew Gray (age 9), whose
darting runs achieved a solo goal, and created a number of team goals.
Spirit of the game went to Iwan Williams (age 6) for his sportsmanship
and team effort. Congratulations to Ellis Murphy and Iwan Williams
on their first goals for the club.
