| Under 12 - 27th October 2007 |
The under 12’s made the long trip to Haringey looking for their 1st win of the season after a draw and narrow defeat in their first 2 games.
James WhitingThe Dragons got off to a dream start with Tom Parkinson assisted by Owen Griffiths opening the scoring after just 36 seconds. From then on in it was goals galore for the Dragons and with them looking the stronger of the 2 teams it came as no surprise when they got their second goal, scored again by Tom Parkinson but this time the assists going to Callum Buglass and Owen Griffiths.
With the first line clicking as a unit it was Owen Griffiths turn to score and he fired home 2 quick goals to put the Dragons in a comfortable position at 4-0, and as the period came to a close the second line got in on the scoring also with a goal from Krystof Gibbon assisted by Scott Bird to give the Dragons a 5-0 lead at the end of the first.
Head Coach Zbynek Sebor was able to use Connor Harris from the Dragons under 10’s team who stepped up to help the under 12’s and Connor played a big part in keeping the Dragons in control of the game.
The Dragons fired on with scoring throughout the second period and at just 4:52 into the second Tom Parkinson completed his hat-trick and 13 seconds later Ben Palmer added his name to the score sheet when he scored his first goal of the season to put the Dragons 7-0 up.
Scott Bird soon added an 8th goal with the assist going to Thomas Sperring, his first point of the season and Owen Griffiths rounded off the scoring with his hat-trick goal just 9 seconds from the end of the game for an emphatic 9-0 victory for the Dragons.
It was great to see the work being put in by Zbynek with the boys in training paying off with some of the passing and goals coming straight from what he has been teaching them. The way the boys are now working together as a team is also great to see.
Congratulations to Net-minder James Whiting on his shutout and special thanks again to Andrew Gray and Connor Harris from the under 10’s for stepping up to help the under 12’s out during the game.
