Cardiff Dragons 6 - 4 Telford

The under 12s made the trip to Telford for a challenge game against a team currently lying 4th in the Northern league.

The 1st period turned out to be a close affair with both net-minders in great form keeping the game scoreless.

The 2nd period though brought out the best and worst of both teams with Telford hitting Cardiff with a 3 goal burst at the start of the period to stun the Dragons. To their credit the Dragons dug deep and managed to pull a goal back through Owen Griffiths to pull the score back to 3-1.With the Dragons now sensing a comeback they piled on the pressure and were rewarded with two quick goals from Ben Palmer and Callum Buglass to suddenly bring the Dragons back level. This completed the scoring for the 2nd period.

Again the Dragons were caught out at the start of a period with Telford getting the go ahead goal just 51 seconds after the restart. With some great hockey being played by both teams the next goal was going to be crucial. Luckily it fell to the Dragons with Defenceman Callum Buglass grabbing his 2nd of the game to bring the scores level at 4-4. Both teams were creating the chances but again the Dragons had net-minder James Whiting to thank who pulled off some great saves.

With the game going in to the final 2 minutes the Dragons stunned Telford scoring a great goal through Tom Parkinson to take the lead for the first time in the game. With Telford pushing forward in the final minute Tom Parkinson completed the scoring assisted by Callum Buglass to round off a superb comeback win 6-4.

The Dragons were able to ice two new players to the team who have come through the Dragons learn to play program, they were Alex Stanton Lewis and Sam Edmunds who collected the spirit of game, game- award. Well Done Boys!!.

This was another great fighting display by the under 12s who once again showed they never give up.
