Cardiff Dragons 20 - 2 Bristol Beagles

Cardiff Dragons are going strong looking for their promotion back to division I and after this weekend they secured the top of the table position after beating the Bristol Beagles on home ice in Cardiff Bay.

The Cardiff team made a flying start scoring after just 34 seconds through captain Josh Galea who slotted in a shot into the top shelf assisted by Dan Mann. The Dragons second goal wasn’t long coming thanks to Joseff Lawrence after he picked up a rebound from Josh Haslam to tap it home.

Cardiff dominated the rest of the period adding another 3 to end the first 15 minutes 5-0 up but to Bristol’s credit they battled for everything and never gave up.

The second period continued in the same manor as the first and the Dragons added a further 11 goals. Ellis Price made a hat-rick after being set up with the perfect pass from team mate Kieran Latchford. But once more Bristol refused to give in and scored just before the buzzer to end the second period 16-1.

The final 15 minutes of the game started well for the Beagles scoring almost straight away and to their credit their team worked tirelessly to keep the Dragons potent forwards at bay. Although the Dragons added 4 more goals to run out comfortable winners.

The game was a credit to both sides who played in extremely good spirits. The Dragons showed their strength, discipline and team work so well done boys!
